Another one Down

I learned last deployment that i like to track the progress of mobilization by using holidays as benchmarks. Thus, another one down. Soon the new year will be in the past, i will be home on leave, and valentines day will be on the near horizon. That will put this process more then half over.

Christmas was a good holiday here in Kosovo. As good as can get. I went to church services at the Church of the Black Madonna, in Letnica, Kosovo (pics coming soon). It is a pretty historical catholic church, it is said that Mother Terresa received her calling there. It was a once in life time event, even though it was in serbian and didnt understand any of it.

On Christmas morning i ran a 5k and was off to work. I ate Christmas lunch with a few friends, took a nap, got crushed in Risk, and skyped home to see Eve and Gil finish opening presents.

As much fun is that all sounds, i am glad it is over. Holidays arent much fun spent away from the ones that you truly want to be with, so when they're over and life can get back to normal it is kind of a good thing. time passes quicker during normal life here and even though family and friends are always on your mind there is more to keep your mind busy during normal days.

As previously mentioned, i will be home for about 10 days in january and am looking forward to seeing lots of family and friends. i am most excited to be home for eve's bday and to be able to be apart of Elsie, Eve, and Gil's everyday life. I plan to attend a couple gymnastic sessions as well as being able to take them to school. we plan to take full advantage of the R&R in the evenings and weekends.
