Turkey Day

Happy Thanksgiving to all. I have had a pretty busy week between work and some extra-ciriculars. It started on Sunday, approx 800 multi-national soldiers participated in the 25k DANCON (Danish Constingencey) Ruck March in northern Kosovo. It was the second ruck of that distance that i have participated in and i wanted to beat my previous time. I was able to accomplish that goal and only have 2 small blisters to prove it. During the week we have been steadily busy during my shift, enough to keep you busy, but not over-whelm you. Then today, (Thanksgiving) i participated in the t-day 10k run. Again i was aiming to beat a previous time and was able to accomplish that and have only one new blister to prove it (my sock bunched up). Following the race i went back to work for the remainder of my shift and was able to cap off my work day with a small feast and two pieces of pie (peacon and pumpkin). Considering the circumstances of the holiday, it was a good day and a good week. I will give Elsie, Eve, & Gil and the rest of the fam a call later, hopefully catching all of them pre/post nap. For all of you that i dont get to talk to today, Happy Thanksgiving!!

My last comment is more somber, but today i want to remember SPC Nathan Goodiron, a fellow ADA Soldier who gave his life in Afghanistan on this date 2006 while deployed with the 1-188th SECFOR. It was an evening that i will never forget. My thoughts and prayers are with his family today.
