Hello all. It has been made official, the 141 MEB HQ from ND has taken command of MNTF-E in Kosovo. Yesterday in what is called a Transfer of Authority (TOA) ceremony it became our responsiblity. Earlier in the week i was able to get out and made it to Pristina (the capital city of Kosovo). I have a attached some pics. The first pic i took was entering the city limits. as you drive it is one of those cities that just sneaks up on you (right). I took one on the way back because as i looked out the window i felt like i was on a road heading to rapid city or something. it looked a lot like home for a moment (left). i took a couple of others to show how much the people here still love former president, Bill Clinton. it is tough to see in the pic but there is a 4 or 5 story poster of him hanging from the building near the middle of the pic (center). there is a statue that i will get to at some point that was recently re-dedicated to him. there is also a Bill Clinton Blvd somewhere. It is strange to see things like that in a different country.
next weekend i will be competing in the DANCON. A Danish sponsored 25k ruck march. I have done one about that far before so have a pretty good idea of the time i should finish in but it will be a good test with the terrain here.
I hope that everyone is having a wonderful fall and all you have been able to enjoy the weather. from what i understand it has been quite nice. wishing everyone happy days.
